New Mexico's Step Toward Civil War

On Monday September 15th, a coalition of Democrat-controlled states and cities filed a lawsuit against the federal government over President Trump’s policy to deny green cards to illegal aliens who rely on public assistance. New Mexico, naturally, was one of those states. The fallout of this policy is us taxpayers paying for people illegally here who did not go through the legitimate immigration policy defined by our Constitution and bipartisan statutes enacted over the years.

Not only does this impoverish us New Mexicans but it is an end run around that Constitution to legalize those who don’t deserve it. This is not a compassionate policy, but rather a piggish political move under the machinations of the Democrats.

Along with this latest defiance, New Mexico has been in a state of secession for years over its sanctuary state and sanctuary cities policies. None of these policies have been brought forward for a state wide or local public vote. This is the doing of the Governor, Democrat Legislature, and many New Mexican city councils and county commissions. As such, it seems to me that the lot are committing treason and the federal government should be coming into this state to remove the individuals responsible for these undemocratic actions and gain constitutional control of this state up to and including enforcing martial law if need be. As a citizen of this state, I have not given my consent to the unconstitutional actions of Democrat politicians who are cynically using every device they can to keep their rotten political party in power.

Our Constitution means something and has been kept in force by the sacrifice and blood shed by our soldiers over the centuries. For 250 years it has kept this land safe and prosperous.

The Civil War was fought over the secessionary activities of rogue states. Today the federal government’s superiority over them needs to be re-established.

Stopping The Artificial Intelligence Apocalypse

Recently, and by that I mean a few hours ago, word has reached the ears of the news industry of a new threat to society - the Artificial Intelligence Apocalypse. The pointy finger of media accusation is now saying this new technology will destroy all of human human civilization within a few years. We will all be dead. All of us. No exceptions.

One suggestion by the computer moguls to prevent this looming doomsday is to slow down the development of AI. If only we can stop for a quick breather until we figure what we are doing, they say. This will save us.

But how? How are we going to slow the development of AI? Well, since no one has yet come forward with a marvelous plan to accomplish this feat, may I suggest a few ways to do just that:

1) Only work on AI on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This would seem like a no brainer to me. Non-robots showing up to work two days a week should be able to accomplish less than if they did the full five-day work thing. Unless, and I shudder to think about this, we follow the Bernie Sanders work model of two 16-hour days as his recently introduced legislation to create 32-hour workweek demands. Then we really are doomed.

2) Only use really crappy computer keyboards at the AI factories. Let the non-robot peoples who are currently slaving away to create this grand masterpiece use government-spec keyboards obtained from the lowest bidder. These keyboards will, obviously, have challenges to the users with hard-to-press keys, missing letters, loose tabs, and, of course, the new QWORYTL keyboard layout which will have them spending the better half of a day looking for the capital letter M.

3) Have puppies running through the work area. Who doesn’t want to stop what they’re doing to pick up and pet cute little doggies? Only a monster, I’d say. Oh, and does Little Poochie want a bite of my bologne sandwich? Huh? Of course you do. Huh, Little Poochie.

4) Drug testing non-robot developers throughout the day. Pull them off their swivel chairs and make them march down to the cafeteria to spit into tubes and roll up their sleeve for a blood sample. Oh, and they have to go off to the bathroom for a quick urine sample. They would have to be tested because you know they have to be on drugs just to create the AI coding to do all the promised benefits of the AI disease like hiring fewer employees and offering quicker turnaround times on paperwork.

5) Brownouts during the day at the AI factories. Since we’re now demanding that data centers provide their own green energy so as not to raise anyone else’s electric bill, we ought to be doing the same thing to the birthplaces of AI. Let the lights go out in cubicle areas whenever the sun don’t shine or the wind don’t blow. Give Mother Nature a cut of the slowdown action. She will appreciate it.

6) Unionize the non-robot workers who are writing AI. Finally, the pièce de résistance of AI slowdown development. Bring in some chair-hurling Teamsters looking for dues and in no time everyone will be on strike demanding more money, less work, and cuter puppies.

As a member of the general public, I would like to offer these simple ideas to help slow down AI development. Through creative daydreaming this important work can be accomplished. More talk, less action is my motto.

Trump's $5,000

During the recent GOP’s Midterm Convention, President Donald Trump put out an offer he hoped voters wouldn’t turn down, $5,000 to each adult American if the Republicans retained the House and the Senate.

Suddenly, the ever-thrifty Democrats objected. It’s going to reignite inflation, it’s all showmanship, it may not be legal, Oh, posh.

May I point out to the Democrat complainers that it was George McGovern during the 1972 Democrat presidential campaign who set the precedent by offering $1,000 to every American citizen. $1,000 in 1972 would be worth almost $8,000 today and it was for everybody. So when you look at it, McGovern was offering a way better deal than Trump’s.

But may I also point out that it is the Democrats who have used the public purse to bribe themselves into and keep themselves in office. It was, after all, Franklin Roosevelt who began the Welfare system in this country under his New Deal in 1935. This was just the beginning of the Democrat handout system of using enough taxpayer money to create money-sucking bureaucracies while giving the public just enough subsistence to make them keep voting Democrat.

I personally don’t see this new offer by President Trump as a wise thing to do considering we currently have a $40 trillion federal deficit which is growing by the minute. However, to damn President Trump for his election offer is so hypocritical of the Democrats especially when they’ve been doing that all along.

The Carnival Of Cameras

Back in 1970 when I was taking Journalism at the University of New Mexico, the subject of cameras in the courtroom came up and most, if not all, of my classmates were all for it. I disagreed and said it would turn trials into circuses. Over the years, that's what I've seen starting with the O.J. Simpson fiasco.

The Lindsay Clancy trial is further proof of that and now with the addition of 24-hour-a-day social media judgement, it’s gotten worse. For a retrial, the wagging tongues of today’s keyboard lemmings will make finding an unbiased jury that much harder and inured views will only shape the taunting gauntlet of onlookers jurors will eventually have to pass through in order to get to court.

It may look old fashioned when pen-and-ink drawings of what’s going on in court are presented to the public at the end of the day but I think that way leads to less of a public lynching and more to a solemn verdict. Certainly this can only spark more use of the insanity plea to escape justice now that we’ve seen its effectiveness on public opinion.

One man took the wrath of a nation by standing against 11 jurors who wanted to let this probable child murderer go. One juror. That's the way our system of justice was set up for good or bad. It's worked for 250 years, it'll work for another 250 years.

New Name, New Moniker, New Mexico

In his latest Truth Social post, President Donald Trump declared that we ought to change the name of New Mexico to New America. Granted, this state is always being confused with Mexico but this is not a good idea. Especially as the current postal abbreviation is NM. Now it would have to be NA. This is blatantly unfair seeing as how I have just bought a passel of spiffy return envelope stickers with Albuquerque, NM printed on them. Am I to toss these perfectly good stickers?

No, I say. And further, if a new name is needed we should use a new name with NM in it such as New Maracas or Noisy Machinery or my personal favorite Novelty Muffins. There is no need to confuse the Postal Service with a new abbreviation. Heaven knows they already have enough problems.

Of course the Democrats who run this state would be sure to complain of my idea. No, they’d want something that truly fits their view of the state such as No Money. Let’s face it, the Democrats here never have enough money which they can use to continuously bribe themselves back in office with public giveaways, benefits, and dubious new spending programs that employ half the population of every county.

No, Mr. President, we can’t have New America as our new state name. Perhaps something that would help our state stand out on world maps such as a saucy sobriquet like Naughty Mountains would be in order. Such a name would grab the public’s attention, piquing the curiosity of vacation travelers everywhere. Certainly this would be a great boon to our tourist industry.
